Digital Mammography

Q.	What is digital mammography?
A.	The American Cancer Society recommends annual screening mammograms for women age 40+. Early detection of breast cancer increases a woman's survival rate. Digital mammography is the most advanced imaging technology available for the early detection of breast cancer. A digital mammogram uses a special detector to capture and convert x-ray energy into a digital image. Radiologists can view and manipulate the images on high-resolution computer monitors that enhance visualization of the structures within the breast tissue.

A.	Digital mammography is available at Murdock, Newton and West 21st from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday.

A.	Mammograms for all three locations can be scheduled by calling 316-689-9532. Faxes for digital mammography can be sent to 689-9963.
