Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How long does it take for drug screen results to come back?
A. Negative results are reported to your employer in 24-36 hours. Our physician will contact you to discuss any positive results usually within 2-3 days following collection. Results are reported to your employer immediately following the physician’s discussion with you.
Q. Will I be notified of drug screen results when they are done?
A. You will only be contacted if the laboratory determines the sample is positive.
Q. Do I need a photo ID to complete a drug screen?
A. Yes. Any government issued ID with your picture and name on it will suffice. Employer issued ID badges are also acceptable. We will not conduct a drug screen until ID is present.
Q. Can I be seen by a physician or complete a drug screen if I am under the age of 18?
A. Yes. However, if you are under the age of 18, we need a legal guardian present to provide consent.
Q. Can I get a copy of my physical and drug screen so I can keep it for myself?
A. You will need to contact our Medical Records department at 689-9577 if you want copies of any records. Your employer may also be able to provide you with copies.
Q. If I don't want to put an injury under the workers compensation insurance, can I put it under my own private health insurance?
A. In the state of Kansas, all work-related injuries are the responsibility of the employer. We will bill your employer or their insurance for any necessary treatment. If your injury is not related to work, you will need to make an appointment with your primary care physician.
Q. Can I call and make an appointment for a new work injury or does my employer need to call?
A. Any treatment for a work related injury must be authorized by the company. Most new injuries are handled on a walk-in basis. Follow-up appointments are typically made in conjunction with you and your employer.
Q. Do I need to make an appointment for a drug screen?
A. No. Clients needing a drug screen are seen on a first come, first serve basis.
Q. What is the latest time I can come in for a drug screen?
A. We close at 5 PM so as long as you arrive before then, we are happy to meet your needs.
Q. Can I get a TB test done here and have it read somewhere else?
A. We have found that having your test read elsewhere is an inefficient and often times more costly process than having it done at one facility. It is easy to forget you need to have the test read and most medical offices charge a fee to interpret the test if they didn’t administer it. We will make every attempt to accommodate your needs based on the hiring timeframe, length of the test and schedules but we strongly encourage all of our clients to return to OHS to have the test read.
